Riverdale Baptist is an active church that attempts to provide ministries to meet the needs of everyone in the congregation and at the same time reach out into the community.

Prayer

We have prayer groups and an email prayer chain that spans most of the congregation and many of our friends as far away as Nova Scotia, USA and England.

Youth Ministry

Our youth group meets weekly, generally on a Friday night, during the school year. With the help of adult volunteer leaders, they plan their own program of activities, Bible studies and worship nights. Often they join with youth from other congregations for activities and fellowship.

Music

Music plays a key role in the life and worship of Riverdale Baptist Church. The church has a full voice choir, an orchestra and worship teams, drawn from the youth and adults of the church. These take turns in leading worship music for Sunday services.

The choir and orchestra also present special programs at various times in the year.

Younger youth, involved in music, are encouraged to use their talents by playing during the collection of the offering.

Tumble Time Playgroup and MOPS

Every 1st and 3rd Thursday from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. MOPS offers a programme for Moms of Preschoolers where they can connect, explore and grow together while MOPPETS provides childcare.  Every 2nd, 4th and 5th Thursday is Tumble Time, a drop-in playgroup from 9:30 - 11:30, which is open to all parents/caregivers and tots age 0-5 for a time of interaction, coffee, goodies, activities and play.

Men’s groups

The men meet at the church the second Saturday of each month for breakfast, fellowship and prayer. There is also a Men’s Coffee Break at Starbucks every Thursday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Women’s groups

Several women’s groups are active in the church. These include a Ladies’ Bible Study on Wednesday afternoons and Prayer Sisters.
